Not so much an organized report, rather a random sampling of small adventures.
This was not a successful launch
KSP involves a lot of failures.
Duna, landed! But, where’s our return ride? Hmm…
ELift – Testing out the new emergency return platform
ELift – Wooo, managed to get back into Kerbin orbit with this one.
Trying out Ferram aeronautics. Built a balanced glider and launch trailer…
… and my Ferram craft is a success. It handles quite a bit like my real-world R/C glider.
Minmus – setting up my first base on Kerbin’s second moon
Minmus – quite a bit of delta-V to get there, but landing in 5% gravity is a cinch.
Minmus – just going for a jog on the ice lakes 🙂
A certain animated robot takes a stroll on Kerbin’s surface.
Been trying out
Ferram Aerospace provides much more realistic aerodynamics than stock, including stall mechanics and supersonic aerodynamics. I’m still undecided about it though. Makes fairings exciting in rocket design.
I originally uninstalled
KW Rocketry due to the unmanageable number of the part set, but lately I’ve reinstalled just the 3m parts. It’s worthwhile for the larger payloads though a bit numerically unstable.
The other mods I’m enjoying in moderation:
Kerbal Parts Exchange, Kerbal attachment system, and Kerbal Engineer Redux (though I’m considering going to slide-rule to replace the last one).
