Death Valley Root Beer Good, simpler licoricey flavor. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s just missing something for me. Enjoyed, but not on my short list.

Rootbeer – Brownie
Brownie Caramel Cream Root Beer Very caramely, to degree I’d be happy to call it a caramel soda with a little root beer. I’m think I’ll be skipping it in the future, but only because I’m not a huge caramel fan. Definitely give it a shot if you’re a fan of caramel.
Rootbeer – XXX
Triple XXX Root Beer Good bite, licoricey and caramely but not overpowering. There’s a Triple XXX diner in Issaquah that will serve it to you in an ice cold mug which makes it absolutely amazing, especially as a float. Would definitely buy again.
Rootbeer – Boylan’s
Boylan’s Creamy Red Birch Beer Split personality; creamy like a root beer float, but just a hint of dry birch flavor. The aftertaste is complex and enjoyable. I’m on the fence – definitely a pleasure to drink, but may only buy rarely.
Rootbeer – Bulldog
The Original Bulldog Root Beer Great bite, notable wintergreen without overpowering, but finishing smooth with vanilla. Will buy again, and it might be a good regular to keep stocked.
Rootbeer – Dad’s
Dad’s old fashioned root beer Good bite, not too strong, carmel-sweet afterwards. Simple, definitely a crowd pleaser. I’ve always liked Dad’s, since I was just a kid. Will buy again.
Rootbeer – Steelhead
Steelhead Handcrafted Rootbeer I feel like Steelhead is a nice balanced rootbeer for me. A nice subtle bite that lingers, but ends with a bit of vanilla. I like that the honey doesn’t overpower. Would buy again.
Rootbeer – Maine Root Sarsaparilla
Maine Root Sarsaparilla Well defined licorice tone, otherwise nice and mellow. Would definitely recommend to others, but not to my taste.
Rootbeer – Oldtown
I thought it would be fun and useful to keep some notes on the root beer I try out. Oldtown Rootbeer Company Very birch-y flavor, nice bite. A touch of sweetness from the honey. Would definitely buy again.
