International Conference for Functional Programming. Each year, they hold a conference on topics in programming language and functional programming techniques.
Also, before the conference they hold a programming competition, with entrants from all sorts of places in different programming languages. I should try out one of them – it looks like fun.
This year’s competition results aren’t out yet; they announce at the conference. Last year’s results are though, and rather interesting at that. I was surprised as the number of C++ entries. And one entry in TeX. The results slides include some funny quips and quotes, as well as the funny sounding titles they give for awards (for each placing team, they give praise to the programming language used in various humorous forms).
Take a look. I’m going to have to find some time to try out one of the challenges some time.
